Sunil, "Why do you say so?"

Sumit, "She likes to eat the head and the tail of a fish".

Sumit is readying to have a bath. Just gets into the bathroom and immediately shouts ...

Sumit,"Baba, there is a spider in the bathroom"

Me, "Just shoo it away"

Sumit,"It looks venemous"

Me,"It is okay son, you will become a spiderman"

Sumit,"Oh ah"

For once Sumit is quite. It is another thing that I had to shoo the spider away.

The School Run

 Sumit generally is there at the school gate with a minute to spare and invariably on most ocassions is on the run from the car to the school. 

On this particular day (Sunil is not in station) it is only 0725 and the school does not start until 0730 and yet he is running.

A family friend sees Sumit run from the car to his school gate. He is surprised and ask "Why is Sumit runing to School?" 

Namita feels  ackward says "It is Sumit's habit to run".

Diwali Vacation

  • "I do not like to go by local trains because they are too crowded"
  • "I do not like to travel by long distance train because it takes more time to reach the destination"
  • "I have already broken the fast" (when asked to eat pessarattu (dosai) at 9am .. he has already had his sandwitch at 7 am before going to his drawing class). After a bite of dosai. "Can I have some more, looks like I am hungry".
  • Sumit, "I have to write Hindi handwriting submission because I do not want to get a tough project wrork from my Hindi teacher".  Namita,"If you write 10 pages a day, probably you will complete". Sumit,"I do not think I can do this". Sunil,"So you are prepared for taking up the tough project?", Sumit is mum. Sunil knows that he will need to help Sumit when the tough project indeed comes up!

Sumit in a Black-Yellow Taxi in Traffic Jam in Monsoon

Sumit is traveling back from CST to home in a local train when Sunil reaches him on his mothers mobile phone.

Sunil,"How is the local train journey?"

Sumit,"It is far better"

Sunil,"Uhmm... why? how?"

Sumit,"Open rain. Close Sweat".

Sunil,"What?"

Sumit,"While going to CST we were in a taxi van (Maruti Omni or ECCO suppose) and we were in a traffic jam. When we close the wondows we were sweating and when we opened the windows the rain was falling inside"

Sunil wonders how Sumit will travel in Mumbai.

Adoption

Monsoon in Mumbai ... Sumit and Sunil sitting at the dining table to have their breakfast of upma (south Indian reakfast).

There is a magazine laying nearby the dining table (comes with the HT paper every Sunday called Brunch)  with a title "Love ....". Sumit reads the title aloud.

Sunil thinks that may be it is time to give some gyan. 

Sunil, "You know in some countries like USA people have kids with out getting married".

Sunil is cautious because he has not planned what to tell next but ...

Sumit,"Why only USA, even in India this is true".

Sunil is stunned but regains composure and asks "How?"

Sumit,"Adoption. Several people adopt children"

Sumit saves Sunil the need to plan to tell Sumit more ;-)

Sumit's Original Poem

Sumit coined a poem when his teacher asked him to write a poem on a chart. While all his classmates copied from their text book, Sumit wrote this on his own and rightfully earned a goodie from his Hindi teacher. Poem in Hindi.

क्रिकेट का विश्व कप

धोनी ने मारा छक्का
और अम्बानी ने खाया मक्का

तेंदुलकर ने मारा चौका
और भारत को दिया गया मौका

शेवग नहीं मार पाया शतक
और दर्शक ने दिकाया बतक

युवराज सिंह बना मन ऑफ़ द मैच
क्योंकि उसने पकड़ा बढिया केत्च

विश्व के सामने भारत बन गया हीरो
विश्व के सामने श्री लंका बन गया जीरो
